What will You do?

It's an ugly world, isn't it?

Whichever way we turn, we see human beings doing appalling things to other human beings. It's easy to get lost in the cesspit of hate and bigotry.

It's also easy to feel frustrated when surrounded by that amount of ignorance and prejudice. It's so difficult to look out into that vast wasteland of oppression, injustice and casual violence and not be left with a deep sense of hopelessness and impotence.

But the truth is, we can all do something to make the world a bit better. Something...anything no matter how small can make a difference to somebody. We might not know who they are, we may never meet them, but each of us can choose to shake their fist at this brutal world and cry "I am going to do something positive and good".

It may only be one tiny shaft of light in the deep dark gloom of an ugly world, but surely, if enough of us commit to one small positive action and we each shine our own shaft of light, then surely sooner or later our combined light must start to overcome the darkness.
